Feyalis vs. Others
Feyalis is unique amongst all the planets in the universe, as it is the only source of feyalis anywhere in existence. This undiscovered planet exists in a strange capacity as feyalis has its own properties like many other minerals on the periodic table. Feyalis if it were discovered and understood contains the secret to time and reallity manipulation. To the inhabitants of the planet itself who utilze feyalis, they only vaguely understand what and how it operates.
The planets core being made entirely of feyalis in it purest form keeps the planet spinning. This spin combines with the emissions from the element itself create an aura around the planet. This aura is not unlike the manetic field that surrounds other traditional planets, but is not simply magnetic. The aura that is emitted from the planets core engulfs Feyalis in a field that keeps the planet partially removed from this plane of existence. The closer to the center of the planet one is, the greater this effect. The inhabitants of the planet may never notice, because they live within the same bubble on another plane of existence. This allows for the planet to travel very closely to the other planets without the pull of gravity affecting them enough to matter. With the planet essentially existing within another dimension it acts almost as a ghost to all other interaction. Light reaches the planet, waves penetrate the barrier, energy still warms the planet, but larger objects just have little effect.
It is also because of this strange property that life on the planet evolves at an alarming rate. Species that take thousands of years to evolve may change dramatically in just a few generations. The more direct contact a species has to feyalis, the greater the effects. The same is true of races that are removed from direct feyalis contact, they revert back to thier root species.
Gameplay Mechanics:
In the game of Feyalis the affects of feyalis will have many roles. The major role will be in the way creatures and characters use feyalis to conquer the battlefield. These powerful characters called Affinity Users or Arc Users, have been born with a 6th sense that allows them to feel out the feyalis rampant on the planet. This 6th sense comes in many forms and can be molded in many ways to generate various effects.
The other major part feyalis will play is that units will change and evolve with each edition of the game that comes out. We will create new abominations, monsters, races, and terrain that change the gameplay in interesting ways. We intend to involve the community in much of these changes and will listen to feedback.
