Independence

The 4th of July can be a holiday where it is easy to take for granted. People get caught up in the glory of fireworks, barbeques, and other activities but don't take time to really reflect on why we take a day to celebrate. Our independence doesn't come free and there are many men and women out there that put our lives ahead of their own. This takes a great deal of courage and is largely overlooked. We live in a country where we can say and do just about anything we want without fear of reprisal or retribution. It is easy to become jaded because many of us don't know that in some countries you could be killed or hauled off to prison for speaking your opinion (and yes, some countries are that insane). I extend my greatest gratitude to those men and women who work hard every day so that I may live in a country where my familiy is safe and I can pursue my dreams. Without them I could not build Battlegeddon Games or do what I love every day.
