Dangerous Waters
The continent of Revin is where the entire game of Feyalis takes place. This of course is not the entire planet, but just a single continent. With a planet as large as Suuna and oceans several times larger than our own, there will be very large creatures in them. One of such creatures and one of the most dangerous are the Crad (Sea Dragons).
This deadly beast lives in the deeper water just outside the shoreline patrolling for food. These are not picky creatures when it comes to eating as they are titanic and eat a lot. Birds, fish, swimming animals, and other smaller crad are not out of the question. Not only do they need to eat a lot but they have terrible vision and sense of smell. This leads to many attacks on objects that are mostly innedible to the monster, but makes them exceptionally unpredictable.
Even though this monster has limited sense of smell and sight, it more than makes up for it with a 6th sensory organ. This organ allows the crad to sense matter displacement within a large radius around itself and calculate the density of said object. This in a way works similar to sonar with the exception that it is impossible to trick by masking or deflecting the soundwaves. Instead the crad uses this to determine the majority of the density, the movement of the object, and determine how much energy to put into the attack. With the water and the air having similar density it will almost always be able to detect anything within the bubble the instant it enters. Once it has found its quarry it attacks!
The attack the crad employs on its food is the sole reason nothing can leave Revin. Once honed in on its target the crad begins charging its attack. The water rich with feyalis particles similar to the minerals found in our rich salt oceans fuel this attack. The water turns dark in color as the feyalis is stripped from it. The crad preparing for the attack begins to pull in water through its several blowholes. The lamps on it back grow brighter and brighter as its body overcharges with power. Once the attack is ready the crad fires. A jet of water comes firing out of one of the blowholes with insane speed towards the victim. There is little that can be done as the water travels so quickly there is little time to react. The force of the impace is so strong it annihilates its target or cripples it beyond recovery. Not only does it hit with immense force, but also burns like a cutting torch due to the infusion of feyalis in the beam. Ships have been sliced in half, rocky outcroppings reduced to rubble, and makeshift flying machines obliterated instantly. As long as these live in the waters surrounding Revin, travel will remain impossible.
