The Twodal
Long ago the Eindal and the Twodal were a single race, but different breeds. They were identical in all regards with the exception of which realm they inhabited. This played a key role in their evolution as the Eindal being located so close to Eindari and the rich feyalis deposits they evolved much faster. Over the many generations they become more intelligent and more civilized. While this was occuring the Twodal grew larger and remained wild.
The Relationship betweent ehTwodal and the Eindal never faded and as the many hundreds of years passed the Twodal became revered as sacred beasts and are thought to be spiritually connected to the Eindal. This feeling of connection leads the Eindal to protect the Twodal as a species that is protected from hunters and also from domestication. In very rare cases rich and powerful families will be allowed to breed the Twodal. These families will work for hundreds of years to earn the reputation and prestige that is required to be granted permission to domesticate the Twodal.
There are very few families that breed the Twodal and they do so as a means to keep the population aloft and to grant as gifts to the most powerful of individuals in the miliatry. WHile this is largely frowned upon outside of traditional practices, the ones gifted with Twodal companions earn the right to be paired. They have shown compasion, leadership, talent in combat, and an intimate understanding of the gift they are to receive. This companionship has brought about a powerful addition to the Eindal force in the form of terrifying shock troops that break lines and crush powerful foes.
In the Wild the Twodal are deceptively mild mannered. They are not vicious carnivores and do not hunt in large packs to bring down large game. They are similar to animals of much smaller size in that they hunt rodents and smaller games, but in larger quantities. It is beleived that much of Eindaris clenliness is due to the distinct lack of rodents and pest animals surrounding the City. The Twodal are so proficient at hunting they leave very little alive in the turf they cal home.
Being related to the Eindal they have almost all the same features, but do have a very pronounce difference, the facial feelers. These long tail like appendages act like whiskers picking up minute differences in the shifting of air and can also feel vibrations near the ground. These organs are key to the Twodals hunting abilities, as almost nothing can hide from them. Even the slightest of movements are picked up and lead directly to the source.
Gameplay:
In the game the Twodal will be mounted by a heavily armored EIndal. These will be the strongest and most armord unit in the Eindal army. Due to the agility based fighting style of the eindal they will be a key player in breaking the lines of heavily armored or extremely tough regiments. Armed with titanic wrecking ball weapons they will smash holes in the enemy lines with ease.
Artwork again finshed by Michael R Schneider who has done a fantastic job putting together this concept. This is almost exactly as I imagined them. Check out his portfolio on the Team page.
